An act of love
Little Amy was born prematurely at 26 weeks. She made her way into the world in a cemetery - where her mother was waiting for an ambulance to take her to the hospital. Weighing only 980 grams - Amy was so tiny that she had to remain in hospital for three months. She then came into our care at Nazareth House - where a beautiful relationship developed between this tiny little scrap of life and one of our elderly residents; Caroline. Medical advice was that Amy needed extra cuddling. So Caroline volunteered to give Amy this extra heart-to-heart holding and loving each morning and afternoon. At seven months Amy is now thriving and will soon be joining her older sister in the care of a loving aunt. And a new baby boy who was abandoned after a difficult birth has taken her place in Caroline’s arms. |
