the remainder is needed

This year Nazareth House celebrates 130 years of caring for abandoned and disabled children, poor and frail elderly and – more recently – those suffering with HIV/Aids and other life threatening illnesses.
We would not have been able to reach this milestone without the support of the community and the assistance that volunteers have provided over the years.
Due to the traumatic circumstances previously experienced by most of those cared for at Nazareth House, it is imperative to provide routine and consistency in their daily lives. For this reason we are only able to place volunteers who are committed to a minimum of six months.
If you are interested in volunteering, you must submit
a completed application form. Incomplete applications will not be assessed. We find ourselves very blessed with the number of applications that we receive and ask you to understand that we are not always able to place everyone.
Please note that all volunteers who are accepted into our Programme will have to provide us with a recent Police Clearance Certificate.
Nazareth House seeks professional people with a background
in nursing, physio- or occupational therapy, finance, fundraising,
marketing or events, to serve in long-term volunteer programmes.
An ability to multi-task, a commitment to peace, tolerance
and development and a willingness to learn, experience and
accept a dynamic and diverse South Africa are essential.
