Volunteer

As a non-profit organization, Nazareth House recognizes and appreciates the contributions made by local and foreign volunteers. Like Nazareth House employees, the volunteer force consists of people of all ages, backgrounds, races and experience. Previous volunteers have come from diverse cultures and different countries, such as the United States of America, Germany, England and Ireland. 

Volunteers are recruited on a needs basis. There is no discrimination between applicants and an equal opportunity will be given to all those who fit the criteria to fill any vacancy that may exist.

If you are interested in volunteering, you must submit a completed application form, CV and a half-page motivation of what you can offer Nazareth House, what you would like to achieve and why you chose Nazareth House, at least three months prior to the date of availability.

This is to accommodate the selection and placement process as well as any logistical issues such as visas. A selection process takes place on a monthly basis. A reference check and Police Clearance check will be done on all volunteers whose applications are accepted. 

Nazareth House seeks professional people with a background in nursing, physio- or occupational therapy, finance, fundraising, marketing or events, to serve in long-term volunteer programmes. An ability to multi-task, a commitment to peace, tolerance and development and a willingness to learn, experience and accept a dynamic and diverse South Africa are essential.
